Biology/Biotechnology Lecturer, Non Tenure Track - Burlington County College - Pemberton, NJ

The Lecturer will assume responsibility for outcomes assessment in one or more courses in the discipline, participate on college committees including Middle States, and contribute in a meaningful way to the college community. This is a non-tenure track appointment.
The lecturer will provide instruction (lectures and labs) within biology program; assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service.

Overall Purpose and Responsibility:
The primary and most important overall responsibility is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to all prospective BCC students and to all members of the college community.

Institutional Effectiveness:

Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR (Office of Institutional Research) reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop, in collaboration with Division Dean and/or Associate Dean, course syllabi, assessments, and rubrics as part of program development and institutional and student outcomes assessment.
2. Maintain office and advising hours for students.
3. Advise students on course selection and career development opportunities.
4. Promote the college programs to the community.
5. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Biology or related field required.
Ph.D. Preferred.

Mimimum Experience:
At least two years teaching experience in the discipline at the college level.
At least one year experience in the use of instructional technologies.

The Bilology Lecturer must be able to prepare and deliver lessons in a variety of college-level Biology courses and disciplines including, but not limited to: General Biology, Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Biology and Human Affairs, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.
