Laboratory Technician - Microbiology - ELISA - GMP - Immunoassay - Medical Diagnostics - Permanent - Dartford - Kent - £19-21K

A company that is a world leading provider of high-quality microbiology products to clinical, industrial, research, and academic laboratories currently requires an Laboratory Technician to prepare components of diagnostic kits from raw materials and intermediates bulk solutions. You will also be required to carry out prescribed in-process and quality tests to check whether manufactured components and kits meet external and internal quality and performance specifications.

Main duties & responsibilities:

*Prepare buffers and bulk solutions as per production documentation; carry out filtration and sterility testing on some components.
*Perform in-process tests of calibrators, conjugates, amplifier and substrate. Adjust strength of solutions to meet specifications.
*Perform immunoassays according to POIs/SOP's, to analyse their performance according to specific release criteria.
*Perform physical and performance analyses on critical raw materials and finished components to satisfy specific release criteria.
*To report problems and deviations to the supervisor.
*To raise non-conformance reports when required.
*To be responsible for the quality of their output in terms of both manufactured reagents and documentation.
*Operate computer package for plate reading and analysis
*Take part in cycle counting and stock level maintenance of both raw materials and consumable items, in addition take responsibility for lab inspections and cleaning.
*Gather and provide information relating to materials used and results obtained to the Team Leader or Manager.
*Recommend changes to routings and SOP's if required.
*To take part in plate manufacture if required.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to possess:
*A Bioscience degree level education. Ideally you will also posses experience of working within an industrial laboratory environment (preferably a manufacturing environment), although graduates with a strong practical microbiology element to their degree course will also be considered.
*The ability to perform calculations, manage own time and communicate well with colleagues.
*The ability to accurately record information and complete documentation to a required standard in a neat, methodical manner.
