An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Scientist in Molecular Microbiology to join an innovative biotech company based in France. As an organisation their focus is on biomarker discovery for two main therapeutic areas - cardiovascular and diabetes. They are a new and exciting start up and with continued growth and collaborations it is an ideal time to be joining them.

As a Senior Scientist in molecular microbiology you will be responsible for designing and performing experiments for metagenomics analysis and eukaryotic gene expression assays. You will study bacterial populations in human and mouse tissue whilst experiments for eukaryotic gene expression assays will use RT-qPCR and microarrays. Candidates are expected to be able to work independently on important projects but also in a team with other scientists.

To be considered for this position candidates must be educated to PhD level in a relevant scientific subject such as biological sciences or microbiology. Candidates will have extensive experience in microbiology (particularly with bacteria) and relevant molecular biology tools such as qPCR, primer design and microarrays to name a few; this background may be from an industrial or academic setting. Experience in metagenomics is highly desirable but not essential if a candidate has a very strong background in molecular microbiology for bacteria.
