Life Technologies: Sr. Manufacturing Technician

The manufacturing team at Life Technologies (Bedford) is responsible for manufacturing and testing chromatography media, disposable columns, polymers, formulations and chemiluminescence molecules as well as supporting the manufacturing needs of other business units. We are currently seeking an energetic individual with strong communication, technical and operational skills to join our dynamic and fast paced team in support of operations. The ideal candidate will have exposure to chemical handling and is comfortable with a variety of tasks from manual packaging, labeling and kitting to organic synthesis. The c andidate will follow SOPs and work in compliance with EH&S, SOX, ISO and any other required manufacturing or company systems (e.g. SAP, LIMS, CRO, Trackwise, etc.).

Required Responsibilities:
Perform duties within the corporate EH&S Standards. Develop and execute manufacturing protocols accurately and with limited supervision. Follow written and verbal instructions. Address and report to supervisor any problems in daily manufacturing operations. Complete projects as assigned and obtain high quality results. Periodically review and discuss your priorities with supervisor. Interact with teams in Manufacturing/Quality as needed Proactively identify areas for opportunity and drive efficiency results. Proficient in manufacturing processes. Communicate effectively with other production staff. Adhere to ISO 9001 and 13485 guidelines and the Life Technologies quality policy. Achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance. Use specialized equipment and instrumentation in daily manufacturing. Responsible for the completion of all tasks assigned daily (overtime may be required). Utilize local control systems (PLC and Delta V) in accordance with SOP and UOP’s to carry out unit operations. Perform required in process testing to include conductivity, pH, moisture and size analysis. Other duties as assigned.
