Senior Scientist - Metabolic Diseases - Germany

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Scientist to join a leading drug discovery company based in Germany. As a company their focus is on discovering and developing an innovative range of drugs for a variety of therapeutic areas from oncology to neuroscience. As leaders in the field of drug development and alliances with other key players in the pharma and biotech industry it is an ideal time to be joining them.

As a Senior Scientist in Metabolic Diseases you will be responsible for leading metabolic research for target identification and validation for the discovery of new therapies. You will be expected to identify and assess novel targets and evaluate potential new therapeutic concepts. This will involve developing cell based assays and implementing new phenotypic screening activities. Furthermore the successful candidate will be expected to prepare and present experiment results, supervise other scientists and potentially serve as a project leader on research projects.

To be considered for this position candidates must be educated to a minimum of BSc level in a relevant scientific subject but ideally you will hold a PhD. This will be coupled with extensive experience within the metabolic disease research fields and at least 5 years' experience within the pharma or drug discovery industries. Candidates must have a strong background in drug discovery activities for metabolic diseases.
