Are you an established Bioinformatic looking for a new contract?

Are you looking for an exciting contract with a global pharmaceutical client?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global pharmaceutical company working as Bioinformatic Scientist for an initial five months contract working within Translational Biology. The position will be based in the Respiratory Disease area and will be responsible for supporting target discovery efforts by analysing mainly microarray and RNAseq data as well as other genomic/genetic data generated from disease models and clinical samples.

The focus of this role will be to analyse and integrate microarray and RNAseq data with clinical information to identify molecular networks.

Ideally the right candidate will be educated to a minimum of BSc level with industry experience in bioinformatics-based research gained either in academia or industry.

Ideally the right candidate would:

  • Have a background in computational biology and biostatistics
  • Experience with next generation RNA sequencing data
  • An ability to perform complex analyses
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Can adopt and implement methods for analysis of RNA next generation data

Preferable but not interested experience in the following software packages:

  • Bioconductor,
  • Partek,
  • Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA),
  • Spotfire

The successful candidate should have excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills, enthusiasm, drive and the ability to form strong working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
