Matchtech: Scientist/Senior Scientist Permeability Studies


Our client is a CRO and they are looking for an experienced scientist/senior scientist to join them.

An exciting opportunity within the Permeability Group, the successful candidate would be responsible for aiding in the screening of NCE's using in vitro Permeability assays and scheduling and planning the activities of the Team.

Experience
BSc or equivalent in a life sciences or biological discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience (5 years for Senior Scientist) in performing cell based permeability and/or transporter assays (academic or industrial)
Experience in cell culture, experimental performance, data processing and result interpretation.Knowledge of drug transporters and their impact on drug disposition

Computer literate with previous experience using Microsoft Office and LIMS
Experience working in a contract research organisation would be desirable as would experience of automated liquid handling platforms

Principal Accountabilities
Design, plan and analyse in vitro Permeability assays e.g Caco-2/MDCK (automated high throughput and manual assays) with primarily LC-MS/MS endpoints
Conduct assays and process data to a high quality, within specified timeframes
Represent the interests of the Permeability Team at planning and scheduling meetings
Tracking of studies through the laboratory
Assist with troubleshooting and method development of existing and new assays in conjunction with the Team Leader
Maintain high standards of cell culture
Upkeep of laboratory facilities including stock control and instrumentation validation
Aid in the design and implementation of bespoke permeability and transporter assays
Follow safety regulations and quality control procedures
Work closely with Senior Scientists, Senior Research Scientists and Laboratory Assistants
Keep up to date with scientific advances, developments and regulatory guidelines in the area of permeability and transporters
Train other members of staff in cell culture and permeability assay
