SRG: Director Portfolio & Resource Management

Due to continued expansion to support the business our client is seeking to appoint a Director Portfolio & Resource Management to provide cross-functional strategic and operational management and leadership to pipeline management, functional leadership & governance with a focus on strategic analysis and operational management & analytics. The tools for analysis include OPAL, industry benchmarking forums and industry research.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • As a Member of the Pipeline Management leadership team provide direction for the pipeline management group, and mentoring and leadership to group members
  • Oversee development and execution of process and procedure improvement initiatives within pipeline management and partners with other departments to gain buy-in and ensure new processes and procedures meet organizational goals
  • Assess, develop, and implement tools designed to facilitate operational excellence initiatives within pipeline management
  • Manage partnerships with Finance, GPPS Portfolio Management and R&D functional leadership as well as internal counterparts to achieve project and portfolio goals.
  • Design and implement management reporting capabilities from the OPAL program by working with cross functional Leadership teams and the iMeds/RRCs/ESPC, allowing for the optimal leveraging and use of project data for effective portfolio management across internal functions & governance.
  • Distill large amounts of information into useable and accurate data points that form the foundation of analytics regarding cycle time, success rates, benchmarking, Portfolio Reviews, LROP, resources and capacity forecasting.

The ideal candidate for this position will be senior leader from the life science / pharmaceutical industry with in-depth knowledge of project and portfolio management as a discipline with the ability to create, coordinate, and maintain an integrated product plan and to control or respond to changes in strategy and scope.

The incumbent will possess significant experience in early and late phase clinical development stages and processes within biologic/pharmaceutical development including key stage gates and decision criteria for moving programmes through the development pipeline, and the considerations relevant to post-marketed development and life cycle management.

The incumbent will also ideally hold expertise in use of enterprise-wide pharmaceutical project management software solutions, including skills in critical path analysis. In addition, a high degree of analytical expertise in assimilating data, identifying trends, and utilizing data to recommend business solutions is required.
