Lonza: Evaluations Manager (12mth contract)

A great opportunity has arisen for an Evaluation Manager to join our Program Management team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will be based in Slough, UK.

The primary function of the Evaluation Manager is to provide technical input during the sales process.  The Evaluation Manager is responsible for providing timely and accurate estimates of time, cost and quality objectives for the defined scope of work and disclosing related opportunities and risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•         Perform technical project evaluations based on customer RFPs and informal requests, in close collaboration with subject matter experts from R&D, Manufacturing and appropriate Support Services.

•         Provide agreed evaluation deliverables to Sales/Business Development to finalize the offer.

•         Support Sales and Business Development on pre-evaluations or informal requests with qualitative assessments of facility fit and project complexity, risk, cost, and timelines in order to facilitate discussion/clarification with customer and arrive at a bid/no-bid decision, site recommendation, and general approach to the evaluation.

•         Participate in and support Pipeline review meetings with Business Development.

•         Provide Evaluations support for existing projects when appropriate and requested by project team

•         Ensure complete and current information is handed over to Contract and Program Management.

•         Support Sales / Business Development in organizing customer site visits.

•         Maintain close collaboration and communication with Sales, Business Development, and Contract Management and provide technical support during contract negotiations as required.

•         Alert Sales / Business Development to technical or scheduling issues identified during project acquisition and provide support for resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


•         A significant amount of experience in cell culture, purification process development, engineering and/or manufacturing

•         High initiative with a proactive approach on the job

•         Strong analytical, presentation, and problem solving skills coupled with the ability to work both independently and in a team

•         Excellent written and oral communication skills

•         The ability to manage multiple priorities

•         Ability to chair both internal and external meetings professionally and efficiently
