HRS Hyper Recruitment Solutions: Principal Scientist - Kits and Assays

An exciting requirement for a Principal Scientist with expertise in the development of Kits and Assays to join a leading life sciences company based in the Cambridgeshire area.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The role of Principal Scientist is predominantly lab-based and will involve leading the development of our client's program to validate, optimise and assess the quality of a broad range of assay kit products.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main duties of the Principal Scientist will include:

1. Liaising with the company marketing team to gain understanding of customer requirements.

2. Development and execution of a plan of experiments to generate publication quality data showcasing kit performance and to assess assay kit quality.

3. Recommending modifications to products, protocols and product data to improve customer experience.

4. In the longer term, playing a key part in our client's kit and assay development plans which may involve investigation of assay technologies, identification of opportunities for, and development of, new products.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for the role of Principal Scientist, we are looking for applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following:

1. A PhD in Biological Sciences or equivalent experience, and experience in the development and use of ELISA, biochemical and cell based assays is essential.

2. Ideally, you will have experience working within a commercial environment, including managing staff.

3. An understanding of the trends in life sciences and associated assay technologies.
