SRG: Operations Director

SRG have been exclusively appointed to represent an opportunity for an Operations Director to join a novel technology based Medical Device start-up based in Oxfordshire. The technology around the device has been founded on key research and IP by the companys scientific founders and seeks to address an unmet need in the retrieval, preservation and transportation of organs for transplantation.

This award winning business has been successful in gaining key funding through the major stages of the development of the technology and the device itself which today sees the business in an ideal state for on-going EU, US and Canadian clinical trials and subsequent launch of the product in 2014.

Due to continued expansion of the business we are seeking to appoint an Operations Director to oversee and drive the business towards key operational, development and organisational milestones and objectives in line with the building of the business. Reporting to the CEO the incumbent will manage the day-to-day running of the business on the ground as well as work closely at leadership level to meet key milestones in line with business objectives set by the board.

Key Accountabilities include:
· Maintenance and management of company IP Portfolio.
· Establishment and maintenance of supply agreements and logistics with key component suppliers.
· Manage and maintain the company premises and IT activities.
· Supporting activities such as; Regional development grants; Tooling grants for new products; Implementation of new technology.
· Direct Post-Launch Product Supply Activities.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a consummate leader with hands on operational and product development experience gained from an advanced technology sector such as; medical device, biotech, scientific instrumentation, electronics or advanced automotive or aerospace sectors.

We are seeking demonstrable skills in working within a regulatory driven environment focused on advanced technology. The successful individual will ideally have exposure of having worked in a start-up environment in which a broad set of skills and a hands-on attitude is required in balance to a strategic organisational and product development management approach.
