Lonza: Senior Scientist - Process Analytics

We are looking to recruit an experienced Scientist to develop expert technical knowledge and flawless execution across a range of Process Analytics activities.

To provide direct laboratory analytical support for cell culture and purification process development that is required in the development and manufacture of antibodies and other recombinant proteins being manufactured by Lonza.
     * Lead analytical method developments and evaluations related to ELISA, HPLC and ForteBio Octet methods.
     * To maintain laboratories and associated facilities to cGMP.
     * To provide flexible laboratory-based practical expertise across Process Analytics with techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Caliper GXII, IEF, GP-HPLC, oligosaccharide analysis, residual Protein A ELISA, HCP ELISA/Western Blot, DNA (qPCR).

Key Responsibilities:
     * To develop expert technical knowledge and flawless execution across a range of Process Analytics activities.
     * Collate, analyse and interpret data.
     * Review and critique protocols and reports to prepare them for final review.
     * Communicate progress and escalate challenges to Line Manager and/or project teams as appropriate.
     * To lead troubleshooting investigations as required.
     * Present data to customers and represent Process Analytics on a project team.
     * Lead departmental practices and process improvements.
     * Coach and/or mentor junior scientists/technologists.

Essential:
     * Demonstrable practical experience in the analysis of proteins.
     * Proven experience in ELISA development.
     * Background in a Biological Science.
     * IT proficient (i.e. intermediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Desirable:
     * ELISA (or other analytical technique) evaluation/validation experience.
     * Theoretical knowledge or practical experience in analytical techniques. For example:
     * ForteBio Octet, HPLC (primarily affinity and RP-HPLC).
     * Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and GMP processes.
