Reed Scientific: Bioanalytical Scientist/Study Director - Pharmaceuticals


Reed Scientific are recruiting for an experienced Bioanalytical Scientist to join an expanding team for their client. The team undertakes bioanalytical-based projects for external clients, encompassing the development, validation and application of bioanalytical methods. The majority of the methods will be for the quantitative analysis of drugs in biological fluids using LC-MS/MS technology. The team also undertakes quality control testing of developmental and formulated products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To act as Study Director or Principal Investigator on client projects, responsible for the oversight, direction and control of method development and validation studies, stability studies and analytical phases.
- To develop and validate bioanalytical methods and to troubleshoot methodology problems.
- To analyse biological samples, such as urine and plasma, resulting from pre-clinical and clinical studies using LC-MS/MS.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- A degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry, with industrial experience of bioanalytical projects, preferably involving pre-clinical or clinical studies within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Good practical experience of LC-MS and bioanalytical extraction techniques.
- A proven track record of method development and troubleshooting.
- Experience of working within a GLP/cGMP/GCP environment and preferably with Study Director experience.

DESIRABLE:

- Practical experience of using AB Sciex mass spectrometers and Analyst software.
- Experience of PK and immunogenicity testing.
- Experience of protein and large molecule bioanalysis.
- Experience of supervising/mentoring junior members of staff.
- Experience of working within a customer focussed role.
