Hudson Shribman: Technical Trainee Programme (Product Development) - South Africa or Russia

Based in either South Africa (Stellenbosch) or Russia (Moscow) with international travel, the Technical Training Programme is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership programme of our client’s organisation â€" a successful global business.

This programme will provide you with the support, training and opportunities to enjoy a rewarding career within their company. You will develop a wide range of skills in areas as diverse as sensory assessment, flavour development, consumer insights and product manufacturing / processing. On completing your initial two year training period you will select a product related specialist area to deepen your knowledge in, taking guidance from your manager. Once you have completed this final 'specialist' training year you will be ready to take on a management grade role.

Based in either South Africa or Russia you may also complete parts of your training programme in our client’s other international centres of excellence across the globe. Your future career is likely to be an international one, and could include assignments in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. Our client is a global business operating in many countries and you’ll therefore need to be culturally aware and open to new experiences, as well as committed and passionate, in order to succeed within their organisation.

This Training Programme Includes:

  • International travel
  • Training and skills development in crop science and agronomy. Please note - some of the agronomy training will take place over several months on working arable farms in South Africa.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • A degree in natural sciences (especially Agriculture, Agronomy, Biology or Chemistry), engineering (especially Product Design) or a food based subject (e.g. Food Technology).
  • Post qualification experience in industry is desirable and voluntary/ charity experience would be welcome. Applicants demonstrating experience through study or work in a foreign country would be at an advantage.

Language Skills Required:

  • You must be fluent in verbal and written English, and have an interest in developing the language skills of your host countries.

Additional Requirements:

To be selected for this programme you must be either a South African or Russian national.

Selection & Assessment Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial discussion as part of the screening process. Suitable candidates will then have to complete SHL inductive/ logical reasoning and numerical tests.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to an Assessment Centre, likely to take place in November/ December 2013.

The start date for successful applicants is likely to be in January 2014.
