Our Logistics Coordinator will fulfill several key roles in the Shipping and Receiving areas:

Shipping:

· Audit and ship outgoing products to customers and vendors

· Solid knowledge of shipping methods and carriers

· Experienced in creation of all required shipping & export/import documents

· Understand international shipping practices and documentation

o Customs Documents and Requirements

o General knowledge of government controls and regulations related to export/import

o Detailed knowledge of how to complete commercial invoices and related documents to successfully process shipments for export

· Proactively assist in resolving any shipping discrepancies.

  • Ability to communicate with freight forwarders.

· Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Receiving

· Verify and process incoming material receipts accurately to purchase orders

· Maintain neat, accurate and complete materials records including timely entry into MRP system

· Load/unload trailers and containers of inventory

· Shop floor order creation, processing, and closure

Other

· Picks material from inventory to kit shop floor orders or ship to customers

· Performs kitting of top level products including packaging, labeling and basic assembly following established procedures.

· Cycle Count of Inventory

Minimum Qualifications (must have)

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment shipping both domestic and international orders

· Must have experience shipping via UPS, FedEx, DHL and freight forwarders.

· Must have demonstrated knowledge of export/import functions and terminology

· Requires a high level of attention to detail

· Requires an intermediate level of proficiency with MSOffice

· Must be able to relate well to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers, peers and upper management without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiation, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to corrective direction from a supervisor

Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, fingering and feeling

Requires occasional climbing of ladders and stairs, stooping, crouching, turning/twisting and reaching

Requires lifting of up to 20 lbs. frequently, up to 40 lbs. regularly, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.

Requires eye-hand coordination

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)

Experience with Starship Shipping Software and Macola ERP is a plus

Salmonella spreads by targeting cells in our gut, study shows

Dec. 11, 2012 — Scientists have gained fresh insights into how the salmonella bug makes us ill. University of Edinburgh researchers have found that the bacteria are able to change key cells that line the intestine, enabling the bugs to thrive.
