•         Cryopreservation of cell stocks

        Bioreactor:

•         Set up and operation of cell culture bag bioreactors

•         Set-up and operation of miniature (15mL) and 10L laboratory-scale bioreactors (stirred or air-lift)

•         Daily monitoring and data analysis

•         Harvest and primary recovery

•         Process transfer

•         Process optimisation/development

Candidates will require a minimum of a BSc in a biological science and must have significant practical experience in cell culture or the production of recombinant proteins (including but not limited to monoclonal antibodies)

Ideally candidates will also have:

•         Theoretical knowledge or practical experience in upstream processing (eg. vector construction, transfection, cell line selection, operation of bioreactors, cell culture and aseptic processing, harvesting and primary recovery)

•         Some knowledge of GMP or similar quality systems

•         An awareness of technology transfer of processes from laboratory scale to manufacturing plants.

•         Process characterisation experience in line with current regulatory guidelines
