Agenda Resource Management: Animal Technician - based Oxfordshire - ref ARM 1575

Our client is a leading provider of essential, pre-clinical and non-clinical con­tract research, research models, animal diets, and services to the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, agrochemical, and chemical industries, as well as universities, government, and other research organizations. Their focus is on providing customers with products and services to optimize the discovery and safety of new medicines and compounds.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Animal Technician to work in the Oxfordshire area on a permanent basis. Due to location, applicants must possess a full driver's license and their own transport.

Basic Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (English & Mathematics
  • The ability to perform repetitive tasks and manual dexterity required.
  • This is an active role and the successful candidate will be on their feet for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to entry the unit through a closed shower point and work in a confined work environment for up to 8 hours a day.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Previous animal technology experience would be an advantage.
  • Assisting with animal care and husbandry programmes including the provision of clean bedding, nesting materials, cleaning caging and associated equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain high standards of hygiene and welfare as required.
  • Must adhere to all Quality, Home Office and Animal Welfare Act requirements.
  • Operate to all relevant work instructions at a supervised level.
  • To be responsible for personal and colleagues Health and Safety by observing company and legislative guidelines on safe working practises.
