HRS Hyper Recruitment Solutions: Production Supervisor - Life Sciences
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Production Supervisor will manage production units to ensure efficient use of equipment, materials and staff while ensuring efficient supply of animals to customer specifications. Ensure animals are kept within the Home Office Code of Practice and Company guidelines is essential to this position.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the Production Supervisor will be broad and will include the following:
1. To ensure all procedures are conducted in accordance with the company barrier protection systems, to safeguard animals health, to include personnel movement / Quarantine restrictions and ensuring sterility of consumable items.
2. To ensure compliance with the Home Office Code of Practice. To carry out the duties of the Named Person in Day to Day Care and ensure that all procedures are conducted in compliance with Home Office Code of Practice for Breeding Establishments.
3. To monitor production performance, to maximise the use of equipment and human resources, and meet production targets as provided by senior management. You will regularly enter each animal unit, to ensure compliance with company operating procedures and standards regarding production, servicing of equipment, condition of facility and staff development, and to submit reports to the Production Manager detailing observations and action to be taken if necessary
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful as the Production Supervisor evidence of the following should be presented on application:
1. IAT, BTEC or other animal related qualifications with proven industry 5 years experience in animal breeding. Preferably this would be for those working with rodents or other small animals.
2. Experience leading small, medium or large teams of animal technicians is required and it is essential the successful person has a detailed understanding of biosecurity / biosafety.
