Hays Life Sciences : Senior Scientist

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Scientist to lead the Emerging Technologies team for a fantastic in vitro diagnostics company specializing in cancer biomarker identification / validation and IVD product development.

They have a brilliant R&D pipeline, which includes biomarkers for cancer screening, diagnosis, staging, therapy selection and relapse monitoring. The company have recently set up their R&D facilities and are based at a premier site for scientific and technological innovation. They also offer development and reference laboratory services to global leaders in the field of cancer diagnostics.

At the heart of the company are high-throughput systems for fully automated immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) staining of tumour tissues and cytospin preparation, including on-board de-paraffinisation and antigen retrieval protocols and highly sensitive polymer-based technology that allows enhanced penetration to antigens resulting in high signal amplification.

They are currently exploring innovative technical solutions for the measurements of biomarker expression in immunostained sections using a high-throughput, fully automated image analysis pipeline which is being used by their scientists to develop diagnostic, prognostic and predictive assays for different tumour types.
