Matchtech: Senior Technical Specialist (Protein Science)


Our client is a major biopharmaceutical company and they are looking for an experienced Technical Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the position is to lead activities in the development, transfer, validation and technical support of processes and methods associated with new and existing products.

Responsibilities:
- To lead process development of microbial fermentation, technology transfer and validation/qualification activities within the Process Development API team.
- To transfer information from scientists to project leaders and support junior staff members.
- Organise and manage the preparation of development batches of API and their subsequent analysis.
- Ensure system suitability of all laboratory equipment.
- Supervise a small team in the process development of Biological Products
- Prepare updates to regulatory submissions and/or responses to questions received from regulatory agencies.
- Design robust experiments, analyse, review and report outcomes of experimental work
- To work in a containment facility with high GMP
- Lead aspects of the provision of non routine support for processes/methods and the development of new/novel methods to support process, transfer and improvement activities.
- Perform experimentation to support Industrialisation Group activities, collate the data and write technical reports.

Education and Experience:
- Degree in appropriate scientific discipline
- Experience working in a GMP manufacture environment
- Experience working within Process development in a supporting role
