High-throughput screening


BioFocus is a leader in complex biological assays, high-throughput screening and integrated drug discovery approaches to develop novel drugs. Within our established biology group, at our state-of-the-art research site near Cambridge, we are expanding our high-throughput screening department and are currently recruiting for ambitious scientists with relevant experience.

You will be
• Leading the development, optimization, validation, implementation, and execution of high-throughput screening projects
• Interfacing directly with clients and our business development team to understand project needs and deliverables and define appropriate project strategy
• Managing a team of scientists working on multiple projects
• Monitoring and troubleshooting assay quality and performance

You will have:
• Expertise in high-throughput screening to progress hit finding projects from
conception through to validated hit delivery
• Relevant industrial experience of managing a team to deliver projects to
specified timelines in a HTS or cross-functional drug discovery setting
• A PhD in Biology or related discipline and a background in in vitro assay
development and application. Expertise in enzymology would be an advantage

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals with strong
communication and presentation skills, a collaborative attitude and the
ability to work well under pressure and meet critical timelines.
You must have the right to work for any company in the UK.

BioFocus and Argenta are the service divisions of Galapagos. Galapagos is a mid-size biotechnology company specialized in the discovery and development of small molecule and antibody therapies with novel modes-of-action.
